More of the baby Eastern Bluebird

When we returned from Panther Creek State Park the little bluebird had moved from one side of the driveway to the other. It was hot and he really wanted in the shade.

His parents or older siblings started chirping at him when we got out of the car. He went back across the driveway, and we never saw him again.

I hope they fed him even though he was not in the house, because he sure looks too young to be on his own.

He is definitely having a bad hair day, and he looks upset about it in this last photograph.

I hope it's okay :(. If you see it again, I heard it's ok to put baby birds back in their nest.

I sure hope his parents are feeding him! He's just adorable, but won't last long if they don't...poor little guy!

Red - I also was told by a GSMNP naturalist you can handle the baby birds (just not too much) and put back, but I was not sure which box he belonged in, and thought he was better off on the ground than in a box the bird wouldn't go to.

Beautiful pics! But I find the little thing has such a heart-breaking, lost expression on his face!
