Great Spangled Fritillary

These photographs were taken early summer, don't think the Great Spangled Fritillary butterflies are still out flying around here.
Look at his tongue in the bottom photograph.

Great pictures of this butterfly! I haven't seen one of these this year. I like how they curl their tongue up!

Very nice pics. I was very excited because I spotted a mourning cloak butterfly this weekend. It is the first butterfly, other then cabbage whites, that I have seen in a while.
