Skipper on various flowers

There are so many Skippers. I have not tried to identify skippers yet. I might get to that this winter. Think the bottom 2 are different than the top 3, but not sure.

Common Buckeye Butterfly

I think the Common Buckeye is beautiful. When we visited the Grand Canyon last year I had seen my first Buckeye the week before leaving on the trip, somebody there made reference to how can people not believe there is a God. I said how can you look at a Common Buckeye and not believe there is a God. Look at those circles outlined with another circle. Another sign of God, it doesn't take the Grand Canyon, just the smallest of small in our own yards.

Cabbage White butterfly

This was another tough one, I first thought it was a Great Southern White, but I now think it is a Cabbage White butterfly.

American Painted Lady Butterfly

I go outside on Friday and see the Monarch, the next day I don't see it again. But I do see an American Painted Lady. I believe planting the Liatris was worth the effort.
American Painted Lady is a lot more rare than the Monarch.
I took one photo of an American Painted Lady last year before it flew off.
I never did see it again.
I hope this one hangs around for a while.
But if not I enjoyed it while it was here.
It hung upside down a lot and that is why most of the phtotos look upside down.
I was concentrating so much on the Painted Lady I did not see the bee until I was at the computer.

Monarch Butterfly

I have never seen a Monarch before Friday.I have seen lots of pictures of Monarchs, but never seen one myself.
This one put on a show for me, then was gone.
Just hope it left enough behind for me to see many more in the future. If not, I enjoyed it while the show lasted.
The above photo was taken while the wind was blowing, the wind just wrapped the Monarch around the Liatris bloom.

He was not back on Saturday, but tomorrow I will post the surprise I got on Saturday
