I took this photograph on Wednesday at the same park I have been posting this week photographs taken in June 2008. I now know the park is called Lake Seminole Park instead of Seminole Park. I was so excited to get this one photo of a dragonfly I decided to go ahead and post it. I have taken lots of photographs this week and will be going through them to get the best of each bird. With only one photograph of a dragonfly it was easy, nothing to go through. I do not know which type of dragonfly. Have not tried to learn them yet.

More Brown Pelicans at John's Pass Boardwalk
And then landing.
Then I got another one as he is coming in to land on one of the post.
And then as he is trying to steady himself on the post.

Brown Pelicans at John's Pass Boardwalk
The fishing boats come in close to the boardwalk at John's Pass. The fishermen feed the scraps to the Pelicans and Herons.
I think this bottom photo is one of my favorite. Although I like the ones of them on the post.

Various Brown Pelicans in flight
Just some photographs of Brown Pelicans in flight.
On a mission across the shoreline.
This last one he must have been fixing to dive for the fish.

St Pete at sunset
These were also taken during our trip in June.
They have a Hawaii feel to them, although I have never been to Hawaii. Everybody dreams of going there. My dream trip is to Alaska. Someday.....Gull at Lake Seminole Park
Thought I had this one figured out, until the Gull I had picked said it had red legs. Which Gull do you think it is?

Mallard Ducks at Lake Seminole Park
Thought to begin with these were both Mallards. I then thought the bottom photograph is a Mottled Duck. After going back to Lake Seminole Park and seeing all the ducks again I think they are both Mallards.

Osprey off shore at John's Pass
I took this photograph of a Osprey from the boat on a sunset cruise. I may be wrong, it may not be an Osprey. If I am wrong, please correct me. I am still a very young birder.
UPDATE: Per the comments, I did correctly ID this bird as an Osprey.

Brown Pelicans at St Pete Beach
I have always been attracted to the pelicans. Just learned this year there are White Pelicans too. The White Pelicans are a gorgeous bird, but I still like the brown ones.
I tried in February to capture the pelicans in flight, but was not able to.
That was one of the reasons I got my D-SLR. The point and shoot was not fast enough to catch the birds in flight.
