These wildfowers were in Cataloochee Cove along the streams. I also saw the red flowers in Cades Cove the week before along the streams beside Forge Creek Road.

I am a Christian wife, mother and grandmother. I have 2 grown married children, 5 grandsons, and 2 granddaughters. I have been a photographer over 40 years, receiving my first camera when I was 12 or 13 years old. I am always passionate about the craft that I am currently involved in. My husband tolerates my passions quite well, whether it is my photography, stained glass or knitting. I started digital photography in 2007, and started selling my photography at that time. I began selling my knitting in 2009, and needle felting in 2010. I began designing knit patterns in 2009, but did not begin selling them until 2011. I also enjoy flower gardening, birding and x-stitch. Leedra's Photos For Fun sometimes shows these other interest. Photography By Leedra is always my photography, but it is not posted as often as Leedra's Photos For Fun. Heirloom Goods blog is about what is going on at Heirloom Goods, not just my creations, it sometimes includes Jimmy's creations.

I love these wildflowers! We've been to Cataloochee twice lately and really enjoyed it. The trip out there is very exciting, too!
I'm thinking we have the white ones here, maybe in our woods in the back, I'll check that later.
Red ones are really pretty.
Are the red ones cardinal flowers? They couldn't be any redder!
Lovely wildflowers! I hope to do some wildflower posting next spring and summer and fall when I have a chance to get out and do some exploring again!
Your wildflowers are amazing! Beautiful!
I second Lynne's comment. They surely look like Cardinal flowers.
