Newfound Gap at Sunrise

All four of these photographs were taken at Newfound Gap in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in southeast USA. They were taken between 6:37AM and 6:50AM on October 22, 2008.

You can see where the park got the nicknames of the Smokies and the Blue Ridges.

Hey neighbor - you took these close to my back yard! And they turned out beautifully. We are truly blessed, aren't we? To have such gorgeous surroundings and skies!?

How beautiful. I've been there, but the skies didn't look like that. We're planning to travel to that area sometime in December this year.

I love Newfound Gap... Last year, we traveled from the NC side to Gatlinburg to see the Christmas lights. There was snow at Newfound Gap--so we HAD to stop and check it out!
Hugs,
Betsy
