Metcalfe Bottoms in GSMNP

I go to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park fairly often. I don't remember ever turning into the picnic area of Metcalfe Bottoms.

I was in for a nice surprise, and have several post to share.

These four were taken across the water from the parking lot.

The last 2 were from the same spot.

Leedra: I must say those are some neat captures of the little stream, nicely done.

We went to Metcalfe once after a heavy, clinging snow... It was SO gorgeous seeing that snow hanging on the evergreens, and over the water and rocks. We stood on that bridge and got some great pictures also.

On another visit there, we saw two bears up in a tree!!!!! I need to find those pictures and send to you. You love the Smokies as much as I do!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

These are lovely watery shots. I just noticed your mention of Watts Bar Lake....we stayed in a wonderful B&B there a couple years ago. Would love to go back! Beautiful area and there is a quilt show in Athens, TN every year that I like :-)
