Rhododendron in North Carolina

These rhododendron photos were taken July 4th in the North Carolina mountains. Not to be confused with Mountain Laurel....as I originally posted this as. Thanks for the information. (see comment)

Lovely photographs. But I think it is Rhododendron, not Mountain Laurel. The Mountain Laurel is gone in the Western NC mountains. Rhododendron is in bloom, depending upon the elevation.

Hope you liked the mountains.

I like your Rhodies! I photographed some on July 4 too, only on the other side of the continent in Oregon! They are such a lovely flower, not shy at all, like many wildflowers.
