Fall Colors at Cumberland Mtn State Park

I took these photographs at Cumberland Mountain State Park close to Crossville, Tennessee.
They were taken one week ago. The color was at it's peak in the valley, but up on the mountain the colors had already passed their peak.
I moved to the other side of the water and found this sign.

And then made a photograph of the bridge from this side.

More fall colors around Watts Bar Lake

These photographs were also taken between Kingston and Rockwood.
These were taken standing on the side of the highway. So quiet and peaceful to be so close to the highway.
The last photograph has 2 men out fishing in the fall afternoon. So relaxing.

Fall Colors around Watts Bar Lake

These photos were taken between Kingston and Rockwood last Sunday afternoon when we first got back to East Tennessee from vacation.
This driftwood in the front looks like it needs a bird sitting on it. Would have made a great photograph.
Watts Bar Lake is on both sides of the highway between Kingston and Rockwood. I love reflections in water anytime of year, but fall just adds to the reflections. I also like the evergreens mixed in here.

Cumberland Mountain State Park

Wednesday morning I went to the Cumberland Mountain State Park, close to Crossville, Tennessee.
Crossville is on a plateau close to Spring City, Tennessee. I go to Spring City a couple of days a week because my husband now works in Spring City.
Local time these were taken around 7:30AM. I forgot about the time difference (it is just 18 miles away) and could not figure out why the park office was not open yet. The fall colors on the plateau had already peaked, but I was able to get some good photos.

Ducks in the water at Lake Seminole Park

I think these are all Mallards, notice the yellow bill. But please correct me if I am wrong.

Fall Colors at Townsend right inside the GSMNP

These photographs were all taken in the stream just within the boundry of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at the Townsend side of the park. I moved around a little, but not much. I was balanced on the river slicks while I was taking these photographs.

This year is not going to be one of the best for fall colors unless it changes real fast.
