Quarry Falls in North Carolina

Quarry Falls is between Franklin and Highland, North Carolina. These photos were both taken on July 4th. The 2nd was taken late in the evening, after all the swimmers were gone. The book "North Carolina Waterfalls" does warn of the volumne of people swimming, but I would never had guessed, should have since it was July4th. They also jump off the side, into the pool of water at the base of the falls. As you can see in the top photo, there are some people who go straight down the falls. Notice the legs sticking up out of the falls. NOT ME!!!!

Cullasaja Falls in North Carolina

Cullasaja Falls is located between Highland and Franklin, North Carolina. These photos were taken from the roadside. There is very little parking and you have to be very careful of the cars, and the pedestrians trying to get to the waterfalls by parking further up the road and trying to get back to the view of falls. The top photo was taken as I was walking back down to the main viewing point. These were taken July 4th, so the water level was low. Awesome falls when water is really flowing.

Bridal Veil Falls in North Carolina

These photos were taken at Bridal Veil Falls located between Highland and Franklin, North Carolina on July 4, 2008. This waterfall is on the side of the road, with great parking, you cannot miss it. I was playing with the shudder speed, but hand holding the camera. I still liked the difference. Please don't be too critical.

Silver Run Falls trail

I am not sure if this is going to show up good on your computers or not. Follow the front log to the far left. It looks like a snake head, can even see an indention like a mouth. There is a knot that looks like an eye, and then somebody has cut groves across the top the whole length of the log. You can see the eye a little better in the bottom photo. This log appears to have been the path people used to take to the falls, now there is a bridge a few feet from this.

Silver Run Falls in North Carolina

Tough to get the complete waterfall because of people at the bottom.
Silver Run Falls is just a short trail off highway 107, south of Cashiers, North Carolina. Photos were taken on our trip to North Carolina July 4th.
