Like a polite deer should, she closed her mouth for the 2nd photo.
The last 2 are a different deer, and she actally turned around for me.
These were very close too. Just another indication of the tameness of the deer in Cades Cove. Also, you can see we got a tease of a snow. Nothing to write home about.

I love that second picture best. Very cool shot of her looking back, as if to say, I know you are not taking a picture of my tail!
LOL,

The third is my favorite! Great captures. I just returned from my Dad's and I saw a little deer dead on the side of the road, still had a white spot on it's side......it was heart breaking!
Just to clarify, I did nean the third photo....

The photos are so beautiful. A friend of my was just talking about Cades Cove this morning. She and her husband went to Gatlinburg for the holiday weekend. They went to Cades Cove becuase she wanted to see a bear; however, she didn't see any. She was really disappointed. I'll have to get down there myself sometime soon.
These are beautiful closeups and thanks so much for sharing them.
Deer are the most beautiful animals. You have some great captures here Leedra. Their eyes are soulful. Your photos are awesome.
