Both of these photographs were taken at sunrise in the Grand Canyon, September 2007.
The bottom photograph I just turned around and this man was standing there taking in the awesomeness (is that a word, if not it should be), unaware of anybody around him. This photograph has not been touched, this is the way it turned out. The Smoky's turn blue, I guess the Canyon turns brown.

Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThat second shot is breathtaking! WOW! Mine is posted HERE too. Happy SWF!~
ReplyDeleteThanks for these very nice - and nonstandard - views of the Grand Canyon. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteLeedra: Your link didn't work for me. This is a great cature at the canyon. Why don't you click on it and see if it's working for you. If its not, do it again.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise.

I love both your photos but the second one is my favourite. Very artistic.
ReplyDeleteWow, Leedra!!! Both of these shots are amazing. You should consider submitting that second to a photo contest! I have never been to the Grand Canyon! Can you believe that?! Wow. Wow.
ReplyDeleteWonderful. I can understand why that's your favorite photo.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to the Grand Canyon. I'll live vicariously through your trip.

Wow, what beautiful captures of the Grand Canyon! I can certainly understand why that second shot is your favorite -- I'd love to have a copy of that hanging in MY office!
ReplyDeleteBoth shots are so precious. Yes I agree with Kyle about having that second picture hanging in my office.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I stopped by here - these are wonderful. The one with the lone man is as if he is on the edge of the world - it evokes such strong feelings - well done.
ReplyDeleteYour sunset photos below are magnificent.
Very peaceful photo. Happy SWF
ReplyDeleteStunning - I would have stood there too. Very well captured! And definitely worth a frame.
ReplyDeleteWow. I say that a lot but I don't care. Wow! I really like the first one but the 2nd one is one of those things you don't plan, probably can't plan and it's just the right thing at the right time and is sheer perfection. This is it!
ReplyDeleteSome day I will get to the Grand Canyon. Thank you for giving me two more reasons to visit there! And thank you for sharing these images!
ReplyDeleteIn the second shot it is the propostionate size of man against nature and that lovely atmospheric perspective that really make it so very special.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Leedra. My favorite is the bottom one also.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to the Grand Canyon, I almost got there but the forcast of snow storms cause the airplane company to have us sign a waiver of risks agreement. I didn't, instead I got a refund.
Happy Skywatching, thanks for coming and for your nice comment.
..
Wow, these are great. I love the 2nd one. That is really cool.
ReplyDeleteHi Leedra, these are fantastic photos. I love the second one but then I love the first too. Happy SkyWatch Friday and have a great weekend also.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it is but an old tree branch in a picture sure adds something to a picture.
ReplyDeleteI think I have a picture of that same tree in my grand canyon pictures :) That last shot is great, I love it.
ReplyDeleteThe first one make me think to a deer crossing the road.
ReplyDeleteFor the second one, I think each photographer has his/her favorite, the one he/she reminds as the best one, and the "awesomeness search" is yours, no doubt.
Human being appears so little compared to the immensity. It makes us humble.
Leedra, Stunning images. I just love the Grand Canyon.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Gorgeous captures! I can see why the second shot is a fav of yours~it is stunning, amazing color! And if awesomeness is not a word~it should be! :D
ReplyDeleteHappy sky~watching!
