Virginia Yellow Wildflower

  1. The plant in your photo appears to be sulphur cinquefoil (Five-fingers), a perennial with adorable heart-shaped petals and edible fruit. It's native to Europe and Asia, but it grows in many grasslands and dry forest areas throughout North America.
