It also gives them a longer bloom time.Gardener's Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06000601193627333276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5569092455406761429.post-51619757382233417322009-05-23T01:15:27.080-04:002009-05-23T01:15:27.080-04:00Very beautiful flower. Not sure if iris require cold like the bulbs with them not being real bulbs. The regular iris do NOT like to be buried. I have a hard time getting my husband to leave them as close to the surface as is possible. The sunshine on the 'potato' is what makes them bloom. If they get too thick they don't bloom as well. Guess you do have them out in the open and in your area that should be plenty of sunshine for them. They, like all other good bloomers, need 6 hours of daily sunshine. The type of iris shown here is entirely different, it is planted like any other plant, and the thicker the better. They don't seem to bloom as well for several years, they are waiting until they do get thick. Guess I gave you more information than you wanted/asked for, especially for just a simple comment. Sorry.Leedrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04914177127665868671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5569092455406761429.post-24460352327214950992009-05-22T08:47:11.352-04:002009-05-22T08:47:11.352-04:00One day my iris will bloom!! sighOne day my iris will bloom!! sighAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13061146166736270529noreply@blogger.com
